MCS - Medical Communication Systems, Inc. is a privately held medical
informatics company, founded in 1994, and based at Woburn, Massachusetts and East
Brunswick, New Jersey. Owned and managed by physicians and technologists, MCS is
known for the innovations in healthcare IT market space and excellence in software
engineering. MCS pioneered mobile computing solutions for highly mobile healthcare
providers by releasing a Palm Pilot based Patient Charting product way back in 1997.
Since then, the Company has come a long way to evolving distinct Enterprise Management
Solutions for:
Ambulatory EHR and Practice Management for:
- Solo and small/medium sized practices/doctors' offices
- Small and medium sized hospital based ambulatory practices
- Long-term care including Nursing Homes, Rehab Centers, and Home Health Agencies

with the right product at the right time! Realizing a great demand for an integrated
practice management solution for small/medium sized practices, the Company has been
evolving Microsoft.Net based product suites consisting of patient charting, e-prescription,e-labs/diagnostic
tests, diseases management, appointment scheduling, billing and accounts receivable,
document imaging, workflow management, and community focused portals for patients,
providers, and payers based on Continuity of Care Record (CCR), which can be hosted
on servers at secure Data Centers and distributed through an ASP Business Model
as well as on servers at physicians' offices, if desired.

and solutions that support patient-centric information architecture for evolving
streamlined collaborative workflow among the healthcare payers, providers, patients/sponsors,
diagnostic facilities, and retail pharmacies; resulting in enhanced quality of care,
increased patient safety, reduced administrative overheads, and increased effectiveness
and efficiencies of healthcare processes.
MCS believes in nurturing long-term relationships and fostering
partnerships with healthcare provider and payer organizations. For achieving these
goals, MCS partners with IT infrastructure and clinical content providers to evolve

State, interviewed MCS executives and US Army officials regarding use of mobile
technology, HIPAA issues, and MCS' vision of utilizing technology to replace paper
based medical record in US healthcare system.

MCS is one of four companies awarded the Advanced Research Projects
Agency (ARPA) for Digital Wireless Networking and Communications (1996-1998) valued
at over $6 million dollars to develop state of the art handheld computing technology
to enhance access to critical patient information. Partners include ITT Aerospace
/ Communications, Honeywell, and Sarnoff Laboratories.
